Doug Durst
Doug Durst is a dynamic and results-driven CFO and executive leader with over 25 years of global experience scaling early- and mid-stage companies and managing complex financial operations for public enterprises. Known for his hands-on execution, leadership, and strategic clarity, Doug is passionate about building high-performing organizations that maximize enterprise value.
Throughout his career, Doug has held CFO and board roles in sectors ranging from food-tech, SaaS, healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, consumer goods, and professional services. He has successfully led organizations through IPOs, M&A transactions, capital raises, restructurings, and international expansions across North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Most recently, Doug served as CFO and board director of BranchOut Food (NASDAQ: BOF), where he led the company through its IPO, implemented investor-ready financial infrastructure, and executed multiple rounds of pre-IPO bridge funding. Before that, he was CFO and board member at VRstudios, an immersive VR technology company, where he drove strategic capital investments, scaled revenue by 86x over five years, and oversaw a minority acquisition by Cineplex (CGX.TO).
Doug’s previous roles include CFO of Lenco Mobile (public SaaS/mobile engagement firm), CFO of Visible Technologies (a WPP-backed social analytics platform), Partner at Tatum CFO Services, Director of Business Performance at Microsoft, where he led strategic initiatives for U.S. SMB operations and helped stall regulatory fines from the DOJ/EU, and a Partner at Moss Adams CPA firm.
He is a seasoned expert in financial systems (ERP, CRM, BI), Lean/Six Sigma operations, FP&A, GAAP/IFRS compliance, capital strategy, investor relations, IPO readiness (including S-1 preparation and SEC filings), and corporate governance. Doug has worked extensively with VC firms, family offices, institutional investors, and investment bankers.
Doug is a licensed CPA and certified Strategic Planner. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration (Accounting, Finance, Business Economics) from the University of Washington and an MBA in Finance (summa cum laude) from Nova Southeastern University’s Wayne Huizenga School of Business.
